Gala Pix :: It’s 9:20 pm

It’s 9:20 pm :: The credits for Liars and Lunatics have finished rolling. The lights come up. It’s time to… mingle (again). It’s also time to talk photos and chat it up with cast and crew until the party’s over. Grab another glass of wine. Oh those truffles look pretty good…

P.S. Got some photos from the gala that you’d like to share with us? Send them over our way. We’ll see about adding some of your photos in a post next week…

Gala Pix :: It’s 7:40 pm

More pix from the Liars and Lunatics Gala. This time from the speeches…

It’s 7:40 pm and our MC, Steve Velichko, introduces Dustee Hullinger of Gifted Hands, the charity of the evening. He next recognizes the members of the cast and crew in attendance. And finally, introduces director Roberto Munoz who says a few words…

Finally, the lights dim for the moment we’ve all been waiting for… It’s time for the movie to begin…

P.S. More pix to come. The evening’s not over yet!

Gala Pix :: It’s 7:00 pm

Over the next few posts, we will be putting a host of photos taken at the Liars and Lunatics premiere on October 26th. All the photos were taken by the amazing Melissa Moeller, our official gala photographer. (Thanks for all the great shots, Melissa!)

We’ve decided to break up the gala into some time frames. Thus, we begin… at the beginning. It’s 7:00 pm.

That’s right. It’s time to mingle. Get a drink. Grab an hors d’oeuvre. Mingle, mingle, mingle. Oh, and don’t forget to snatch a good seat while you’re at it. The movie will begin shortly…

P.S. There’s more photos to come. Stay tuned…

Gala Sound System

An artistic shot of the movie screenAh… the Liars and Lunatics gala! A week ago, we were preparing for it. And for those of you poor souls who couldn’t make it, you missed being part of a great audience! We were very pleased with how everything turned out… despite the rain.

Although, at 6:30 pm on Friday the 26th, things didn’t look quite so rosy.

In fact, we had a bit of a scare with the surround sound system at the Helen Mills Theater. We brought the DVD, newly burned and tested. Before letting in the big crowd gathering outside, we did a quick test on the sound system. As we watched the opening sequence, something seemed amiss.

There was music. There were sound effects. But, wait! Where was the dialogue?

How could we have missed that when we tested out the DVD earlier?

Well, after the initial panic (some of us were more panicked than others), we realized that the center speaker wasn’t hooked up properly. So, after some fiddling, we got the surround sound up and working properly.

And, thankfully, our worst nightmares were not realized!

(More on the gala later, including photos galore…)

What NOT to Wear to the Gala

It’s one week to the the gala film premiere of Liars and Lunatics on Friday, October 26th.

In case you’re wondering, here’s a list of what NOT to wear to the gala…

  1. a tuxedo with tails and a top hat (a little too fancy)
  2. your sister’s prom dress from 1985 (too… well… 1985)
  3. your favorite halloween costume (we thought about that theme, but decided against it)
  4. spats (does anyone wear them anymore?)
  5. pajamas (with or without the bunny slippers)
  6. clothes you wear to the gym
  7. overalls and a plaid shirt (unless you’re Davie Malvideo, and we hope even Davie has the good sense to dress up a bit)
  8. lederhosen (unless, perhaps, you’re coming from Oktoberfest celebrations)
  9. dressing up like you’re Karen Lynn Gorney (unless you ARE Karen Lynn Gorney)
  10. space suits (even we Moon Brothers won’t be wearing those)

What to wear, then? Check out the Gala FAQs on the film website…
